A continental breakfast with juice, pastries, cheese and fruit starts the day, and the sun terrace and garden give a spot to sit before or after transferring out to Lofer for the lifts. Outdoor dining extends the terrace into mealtimes when the weather allows it. This is a guesthouse built for a handful of guests rather than a full hotel operation with a large staff.

Ich empfehle den Dietrichshorn allen, die einen kleinen, ursprünglichen Gasthof statt eines großen Wellnesshotels suchen: Zimmer mit Balkon und Bergblick, Sonnenterrasse und Garten. Das Restaurant mit traditioneller österreichischer Küche wirkt eher wie ein Dorfwirtshaus als wie ein Hotelspeisesaal. Wer einen umfangreichen Wellnessbereich oder ein größeres Haus möchte, schaut besser beim Hotel Vitaloase oder beim Landhotel Kirchenwirt, beide in Unken.

Warum Gäste es liebenIm Dietrichshorn fühlten wir uns eher wie bei einer einheimischen Familie zu Gast als in einem Hotel, im allerbesten Sinn. Die Jause im Restaurant und das traditionelle österreichische Abendessen schmeckten wirklich hausgemacht und nicht nach einer täglich wiederholten Hotelkarte. Draußen auf der Terrasse an einem klaren Nachmittag zu essen, rundum Berge, machte die kleine Größe des Hauses zum Vorteil statt zur Einschränkung. Die Balkonzimmer sind ein Plus.
