Bernin sits down in the Grésivaudan valley, well below the tree line where the Les Sept Laux pistes actually start, and this guesthouse makes the most of that lower-altitude setting with a garden and an outdoor pool that a true mountain address couldn't offer in the same way. Le Comptoir de Tigmi is two minutes' walk away for an easy dinner out. Breakfast comes included rather than bolted on as a paid extra, which is rarer among the properties covered here. This works best as a staging point, a comfortable valley base the night before or after a ski day, rather than a stay built around walking straight onto the slopes each morning.

Para quien quiere una base más tranquila en el fondo del valle, con jardín y piscina, y no le importa subir en coche a los remontes de Les Sept Laux cada día. También funciona muy bien fuera de la temporada de esquí, cuando la piscina pasa a ser el principal atractivo y no un extra. Si quieres reducir al mínimo el trayecto hasta las pistas cada mañana, reserva mejor en Prapoutel o en Pipay.

Por qué encanta a los huéspedesLo usamos como base para una semana de excursiones de un día a Les Sept Laux, y el jardín hacía que volver cada tarde se sintiera como un auténtico descanso y no solo un sitio para dormir. Que el desayuno estuviera incluido, y no como extra como en otros lugares que miramos, importó más de lo esperado en una semana completa. La piscina se usó más de lo previsto, sobre todo porque tras subir y bajar todos querían quedarse quietos.
