Langtaufererhof sits at 1,870 metres, high enough in the valley that the rooftop wellness centre feels genuinely elevated rather than just a marketing line, with a sauna, Turkish bath and hot tub up top and a large relaxation area with water beds below. The alpine-style rooms use carpeted or wooden floors with a seating area, and select rooms carry a safe, minibar and satellite TV. The restaurant specialises in regional dishes for lunch and dinner, and the buffet breakfast runs until ten with South Tyrol specialities included. A winter garden and a fully wood-panelled bar round out the common areas, and staff organise guided mountain tours and excursions for anyone wanting to get off-piste on foot. The Passo Resia ski slopes are a few minutes' drive away, and the family-run atmosphere carries through every part of the stay, from the dining room to the front desk and the wellness floor above.

Para quien busca altitud de verdad, a 1.870 metros, y quiere que el centro de bienestar en la azotea sea lo mejor de su estancia, con sauna, baño turco y jacuzzi. Las excursiones guiadas que ofrece el hotel completan bien los días sin esquí. Si quieres ir andando a los remontes, ten en cuenta que las pistas del Passo Resia quedan a un corto trayecto en coche, no a pie.

Por qué encanta a los huéspedesEl centro de bienestar en la azotea, a 1.870 metros, tiene un ambiente distinto al de un spa en planta baja, sobre todo la zona de relax con camas de agua, y se convirtió en la parada natural antes de cenar. Que el personal organizara una excursión guiada un día de poca visibilidad convirtió lo que podía ser una tarde perdida en lo mejor del viaje. La cena con platos regionales, y no un menú genérico de hotel, encaja con cómo todo el lugar abraza su entorno.
