Le Chalet d'Auron has only 17 rooms and suites on the Voie du Berger, and its trump card is a wellness area with a heated pool, jacuzzi, sauna and hammam. The fireplace lounge and the 150 m² terrace facing the slopes make the evenings. The guest score of 7.7 out of 10 on 125 reviews sits below what four stars promise, so I would book it for the spa and the setting, not for polish. Families get a heated pool and half board under one roof. Skiers who want to clip in at the door should know the slopes are in view, not underfoot.
- Start the day on the new Télériou and Las Donnas gondolas, opened in December 2025, which link the resort centre, the snow front and the Las Donnas summit at up to 2,400 people per hour.
- From the Voie du Berger, the logical first lift is the Télériou, which leaves from Auron village; the walking distance from the hotel is not published, so look at the resort map before you book with small children.
- Bring a small dog only: animals under 6 kg are accepted in rooms, for a supplement, but never in the restaurant or the wellness area.
- Auron's lifts are scheduled to run until 12 April 2027, but the hotel's listed winter opening ends on 30 March, so the last two weeks of the season need another base.
