Our take

Hotel Christiania is a simple slopeside address in La Clusaz, right by the ski runs, which makes it easy for families to reach the snow in ski boots. Rooms have mountain views, there is a sauna for the end of the day, and the restaurant serves traditional local cuisine, a good fit for a resort in the Savoie Alps. Breakfast is continental. Guests give it 8.4 from 482 reviews. I would book it for location and regional food rather than for wellness facilities beyond the sauna.

  • Make sure to book a room with a balcony or terrace for the best mountain views
  • Take advantage of the sauna after your last run to soothe tired muscles
  • Try the traditional local cuisine at the hotel's restaurant for an authentic taste of the region

Why we love it

  • Immediate proximity to the ski slopes
  • Relaxing sauna for après-ski
  • Rooms with panoramic mountain views
  • On-site restaurant with local cuisine
Why guests love it

Right by the ski slopes, this three-star hotel made getting the kids out each morning refreshingly easy. Our mountain-view room was simple and comfortable, and free WiFi worked throughout. The continental breakfast set us up for the day, and in the evenings the on-site restaurant served traditional local cuisine; the kids discovered tartiflette and haven't stopped asking for it. The sauna was a cosy finish to cold days.
