Our take
Alpina sits above Grindelwald village, very close to the railway station, and spacious rooms take in the mountains, including the Eiger. The homely restaurant serves French and Swiss specialities, and the rustic lounge and large garden give it a relaxed feel. There is no spa, so I would book it for couples or families who value the view and good cooking and plan to spend their days on the Jungfrau slopes. An 8.8 from 773 guests is very good.
- Request a room with Eiger views to wake up to the iconic mountain every morning
- Spend an evening in the rustic lounge room, it's perfect for relaxing with a drink and enjoying the views
- Explore the large garden, it's a peaceful spot to unwind after a day on the slopes or trails

Why guests love itSet above the village and very close to the railway station, this hotel gave us easy transport and a view of the Eiger from our spacious room. The children loved running around the large garden, and the rustic lounge was a cosy place to play cards in the evening. The homely restaurant served French and Swiss specialities, and dinners there became a relaxed family ritual after skiing.
