About this hotel

Located right at Park City Mountain Resort, Marriott's MountainSide puts you directly on the slopes with ski-in/ski-out access. Wake up to views of the majestic Wasatch Mountains before heading out for the first run of the day. After skiing, the outdoor swimming pool, sauna, and hot tub are perfect for unwinding and soothing tired muscles. Each room is equipped with a kitchenette and dining area, offering the flexibility to prepare your own meals. The hotel also provides convenient ski storage, ensuring your gear is secure and ready for the next day's adventure. For those looking to explore, the Deer Valley ski area is also nearby.

  • Mountain Village base of Park City Mountain, Lowell Avenue
  • Short walk to the six-seat Payday Express
  • Villas with kitchens or kitchenettes
  • Heated outdoor pool and hot tubs
  • Main Street about 10 to 15 minutes on foot

Our take

Marriott's MountainSide stands on Lowell Avenue at the Mountain Village base of Park City Mountain, a short walk from the six-seat Payday Express, and that position is the whole argument. Payday climbs towards the Bonanza Express, and from that area you can ski straight down to Main Street, so an Old Town dinner does not need the car. It is a Marriott Vacation Club resort: villas with kitchens or kitchenettes rather than classic hotel rooms, plus a heated outdoor pool and hot tubs. I would book it for families who cook and ski every day. Travellers who want a lively lobby bar or full hotel service will find it quiet.

  • Payday Express mornings can bring lines; the resort's own advice is Crescent Express, a short uphill walk to the right of Payday, with seven black runs starting from its top.
  • Beginners start at the First Time lift and the conveyor lifts at the Village base, so the first ski-school morning needs no transfer at all.
  • End the day by skiing down to Main Street; the historic Town Lift then brings you back from Old Town to the bottom of the Bonanza Express the next morning.
  • Payday has had mechanical closures, including a shutdown of most of a day in January 2024: watch the lift status in the My Epic app before building the day around it.

Why we love it

  • Direct ski-in/ski-out access
  • Striking Wasatch Mountain views
  • Outdoor pool, sauna, and hot tub
  • Rooms with convenient kitchenettes
Why guests love it

The First Time lift and the conveyor lifts at the Village base are a short walk from Marriott's MountainSide, which makes it one of the easiest Park City addresses for a family's first ski days. Villas come with kitchens or kitchenettes, so breakfast before ski school and early dinners for tired children happen in the room. The heated outdoor pool and the hot tubs are the afternoon plan. Older children who ski well can lap Payday and Crescent from the door. The downsides: this is a timeshare resort, so expect the setup of a residence rather than a full-service hotel, and Main Street is a 10 to 15 minute walk rather than outside the door. For a family that wants to ski every morning without a shuttle, I would still rank it high in Park City.
