Hotel Restaurant Waldea
An infinity pool and full spa in the orchards
About this hotel
Hotel Restaurant Waldea is the standout property in Marlengo, built around an infinity swimming pool, spa facilities, sauna, fitness centre, steam room and hammam that put it ahead of most single-hotel villages in the area. Rooms come with mountain-view balconies, private bathrooms, a work desk and minibar, and the family-friendly restaurant serves Italian and local cuisine with gluten-free and dairy-free options alongside a breakfast of local specialities, fresh pastries, cheese, fruit and juice. Maia Bassa train station sits under two kilometres away, with Bolzano Airport twenty-nine kilometres further, and hiking, kayaking and canoeing are all available nearby. Facilities for disabled guests are in place, and pets are welcome, rounding out a property built to work for a genuinely wide range of travellers.

Our take
This suits travellers who want a genuine spa hotel experience, infinity pool included, without needing to travel into Merano for wellness facilities. The dietary-inclusive restaurant is a real advantage for families managing gluten-free or dairy-free needs. Guests wanting a lively village centre beyond the hotel grounds should note that Marlengo itself is quiet, built around this single property rather than a wider tourist infrastructure.
- Book a mountain-view balcony room, since the outlook is one of the property's strongest features.
- Confirm gluten-free or dairy-free requirements with the restaurant ahead of arrival for the smoothest dining experience.
- Use the Maia Bassa train station for a Bolzano day trip if you want a change of scene mid-stay.
Why we love it
- Infinity swimming pool
- Full spa with hammam and steam room
- Dietary-inclusive family restaurant
- Close to Maia Bassa train station
Why guests love itThe infinity pool is genuinely the reason to choose Waldea over the other villages nearby, a proper spa hotel rather than a hotel with a pool attached. The restaurant handled our gluten-free requirement without making it feel like an inconvenience, which mattered across a full week of dinners. Marlengo itself has little beyond the hotel, but that suited us fine since we barely left the grounds most evenings between the spa and the restaurant. The train station nearby made one Bolzano day trip easy to fit in.
