Dietrichshorn is Unken at its smallest and most local: a handful of rooms with balconies and mountain views, a hairdryer and shower rather than a full spa list, and a traditional Austrian restaurant that serves lunch, dinner and high tea to a small, familiar crowd of regulars and guests alike. A continental breakfast with juice, pastries, cheese and fruit starts the day, and the sun terrace and garden give a spot to sit before or after transferring out to Lofer for the lifts. Outdoor dining extends the terrace into mealtimes when the weather allows it. This is a guesthouse built for a handful of guests rather than a full hotel operation with a large staff.

Recomiendo el Dietrichshorn a quien busca una pequeña posada local en lugar de un gran hotel con spa: habitaciones con balcón y vistas a la montaña, terraza soleada y jardín. El restaurante de cocina austriaca tradicional tiene más aire de mesón de pueblo que de comedor de hotel. Si quieres una zona de bienestar completa o un establecimiento más grande, mira mejor el Hotel Vitaloase o el Landhotel Kirchenwirt, ambos en Unken.

Por qué encanta a los huéspedesEn el Dietrichshorn nos sentimos más como en casa de una familia local que en un hotel, en el mejor sentido. La merienda del restaurante y la cena austriaca tradicional sabían de verdad a comida casera, no a un menú de hotel repetido cada noche. Comer al aire libre en la terraza una tarde despejada, rodeados de montañas, convirtió el pequeño tamaño del lugar en una ventaja y no en una limitación. Las habitaciones con balcón suman mucho.
