Chalet La Colombiere sits a three-minute walk from the Ecole de Ste Agnes, close enough to the Les Sept Laux area that the dedicated ski storage room actually earns its keep rather than sitting empty. Boards, boots and poles stay off the chalet floor and out of the cold overnight, which shaves real time off the morning routine. The outdoor pool and garden terrace give the afternoons somewhere to go once the boots come off, and the valley views from the chalet-style rooms are the kind that a straightforward hotel room rarely offers. Dogs are welcome throughout. This is a small, cozy B&B rather than a full-service hotel, built around comfort and genuine chalet character over amenities.

Para quien valora el carácter de un chalet, un guardaesquís de verdad y las vistas al valle por encima del servicio y las instalaciones de un hotel. Familias y parejas encajan bien con el ritmo relajado y hogareño de la casa, y la cercanía de Les Sept Laux hace que el guardaesquís sea útil de verdad. Si necesitas restaurante, spa o capacidad para un grupo grande, reserva un alojamiento mayor, porque este es pequeño a propósito, al estilo de una casa de huéspedes.

Por qué encanta a los huéspedesEl cuarto guardaesquís fue lo que nos convenció antes que nada, y resultó tan útil como esperábamos: se acabó subir botas mojadas a la habitación cada noche. La vista al valle desde nuestra habitación fue lo que más fotografiamos, más que cualquier día en las pistas cerca de la École de Ste Agnès. Es un pequeño B&B y no un gran hotel, y esa cercanía encajó mejor con nuestra familia de cuatro.
