Why guests love itArriving by train was half the adventure, and once the day visitors left we had the mountain almost to ourselves at 1913 metres. The 19th-century building has real atmosphere, and our room looked straight out at the peaks. Dinner at the restaurant was hearty French regional cooking, and the panoramic terrace over the Mer de Glace had the kids speechless. Pack light and expect simple comfort, not luxury.
