Seven forest chalets at 1,706 m on the Mont Bisanne road, skiing from the door
About this hotel
Le Hameau du Beaufortain stands at 1,706 m on the Route du Mont Bisanne: seven chalets in the forest, about 1.5 km from the centre of Les Saisies. CGH, which runs it, sells it as ski-in ski-out, with runs starting and finishing by the residence at the Carrets chairlift, the way into the Espace Diamant and its 192 km of pistes across six linked resorts. Apartments range from 35 m² for four people to 130 m² for twelve, all self-catering, and the building has a ski room. The heated indoor pool, 12 by 6 metres, is free for guests, as are the bubble baths, sauna, hammam and cardio room; treatments at the Ô des Cimes spa are extra. The 2026-27 season runs from 18 December to 11 April.

Our take
Runs start and end at the Carrets chairlift beside Le Hameau du Beaufortain, so you clip in at the door here, but the centre of Les Saisies is 1.5 km away and the tourist office about five minutes by car. I would book it for families or groups who ski all day, cook in and swim before dinner: the heated 12-metre pool is free and stays open until 20:00. I would not book it for anyone who wants to stroll to bars and restaurants in the evening without the car. Guests rate it 8.1 out of 10 over 62 reviews.
- Arrive on a Saturday if you can: reception is open from 7:30 to 21:00 that day, while from Sunday to Friday it closes between 12:00 and 16:00, and keys are handed over from 17:00.
- Swim on Saturday evening rather than in the morning: on changeover day the pool opens only at 15:00, against 10:00 the rest of the week.
- One parking space is included; covered parking is a paid extra you can reserve when booking, which spares you clearing snow off the car each morning.
- Ski the 500 m down the pistes to the ESF meeting point for lessons instead of driving, and use the supérette 300 m away, about ten minutes on foot, for daily shopping.
- Rent skis at Piccard Sports Le Hameau, the shop inside the residence, and book the equipment with your stay: you collect it without driving down to the village on arrival day.
Why we love it
- Skiing from the door at the Carrets chairlift
- A free heated indoor pool open until 20:00
- Apartments large enough for twelve people
Why guests love itWith children, the draw is skiing from the door: the pistes reach the residence at the Carrets chairlift, and the ESF ski school is about 500 m away along the runs. Apartments go from 35 m² for four to 130 m² for twelve, so two families can share one of the 5- or 6-room units. A cot and a high chair are provided on request at booking, there is a play area in reception, and the heated indoor pool is free, open 10:00 to 20:00 from Sunday to Friday. The catch is the 1.5 km to the village centre: shops and evening activities mean taking the car. I would choose it for a family that skis every day and eats in, not for one that wants to walk everywhere.
