Mominoki Hotel sits in lower Wadano, roughly 300 m from the Kokusai 1 lift at Happo-One, and draws its water for the Shobei no Yu open-air bath from the Hakuba Happo Onsen springs. That pairing, a short walk to the lift and a natural hot spring after it, is why I would stay here. It is not ski-in: the walk follows a busy road and crosses a bridge, and a shuttle bus stops outside for other resorts in the valley. Dinner is solved in-house with a buffet and a wagyu steak house. Skiers who want Echoland bars outside the door will find Wadano quiet, and standard rooms feel tight with two ski bags.
- Walk to Kokusai 1 rather than the Happo gondola: from lower Wadano it is the nearest way onto Happo-One, about 300 m from the door.
- Rent at Rhythm, about 50 m away, so boots and skis can be swapped without carrying them through the village.
