Auberge du Virage sits close enough to Cap 2000 and the L'Arselle plateau that guests basing themselves here are really choosing a different resort within the same Belledonne range as Les Sept Laux, not a slopeside room at Les Sept Laux itself. The rooms keep to a simple wood-paneled style, the sauna is a welcome addition after a cold day, and the casual restaurant and bar downstairs cover dinner without a drive. A fondue delivery service sits a five-minute walk away, which says something about the neighborhood's priorities in winter. Dogs are welcome, and the whole property leans toward travelers who want an unpretentious alpine inn over a polished resort hotel.

Voor wie de kleinere skioorden van de Belledonne vergelijkt en accepteert dat de bereikbare lift die van Cap 2000 is, niet van Les Sept Laux. De sauna en het ongedwongen restaurant maken het een comfortabele stop na een dag buiten. Wie per se rechtstreeks vanaf de liften van Les Sept Laux wil skiën, boekt beter in Prapoutel of bij Pipay, want te voet kom je hier op een andere berg uit.

Waarom gasten het geweldig vindenWe boekten Auberge du Virage zonder eerst door te hebben dat Cap 2000 en Les Sept Laux twee verschillende liftstations in hetzelfde gebergte zijn, dus onze skidagen moesten we even herzien. Daarna zorgden de houten kamers en de sauna voor een echt gezellig verblijf, en de fondue die verderop werd bezorgd redde meer dan één avondmaal. Dat de hond zonder gedoe mee mocht, was een groot pluspunt.
