Chalet La Colombiere sits a three-minute walk from the Ecole de Ste Agnes, close enough to the Les Sept Laux area that the dedicated ski storage room actually earns its keep rather than sitting empty. Boards, boots and poles stay off the chalet floor and out of the cold overnight, which shaves real time off the morning routine. The outdoor pool and garden terrace give the afternoons somewhere to go once the boots come off, and the valley views from the chalet-style rooms are the kind that a straightforward hotel room rarely offers. Dogs are welcome throughout. This is a small, cozy B&B rather than a full-service hotel, built around comfort and genuine chalet character over amenities.

Voor wie het karakter van een chalet, een echte skiruimte en uitzicht op het dal belangrijker vindt dan de service en voorzieningen van een hotel. Gezinnen en stellen passen goed bij het ontspannen, huiselijke tempo, en door de nabijheid van Les Sept Laux is de skiruimte echt nuttig. Wie een restaurant, spa of plek voor een grote groep nodig heeft, boekt beter een groter adres, want dit blijft bewust klein, in de stijl van een B&B.

Waarom gasten het geweldig vindenDe skiberging overtuigde ons nog vóór al het andere, en die bleek precies zo handig als gehoopt: geen natte skischoenen meer die we elke avond naar de kamer sjouwden. Het uitzicht over het dal vanuit onze kamer fotografeerden we het vaakst, vaker dan welke skidag bij de École de Ste Agnès ook. Het is een kleine B&B en geen groot hotel, en die intimiteit paste beter bij ons gezin van vier.
