Hotels in Mosnang

Mosnang is a village of the lower Toggenburg in the canton of St. Gallen, and in winter its one ski asset is the Hochwacht lift: a two-person surface lift built in 1965, climbing from 720 m to 835 m over about 385 m, which serves roughly 1.8 km of short runs, from easy to difficult. That makes it a place for children's first turns after a good snowfall, not a ski destination; at this altitude the lift only turns when the snow is down to the valley. The kroneLODGE, in the Unterdorf, is the one hotel listed here, rated 9.1 from 161 reviews; it works by self check-in, has free parking and sits about 400 m from the Hochwacht lift, so a family can walk to the slope. For full ski days, the big mountain of the region is the Chäserrugg above Unterwasser, in the upper Toggenburg, with a funicular to Iltios and a cable car to its 2,262 m summit. The Hulftegg pass road, just west of the village, crosses towards the Zurich Oberland. The trap is booking Mosnang for a ski week: it suits a weekend with small children, or skiers who drive up the valley and want a quiet, modern room.
