Parkhotel du Sauvage
Historic charm, comfortable rooms, and local breakfast in Meiringen
Why guests love itParkhotel du Sauvage is the historic hotel I recommend in Meiringen for families who like a building with character as a base for the region. Rooms have private bathrooms, balconies, minibars and flat-screen TVs, and family rooms are available. The garden and sun terrace give children space outside, the bar covers the evening, and the American buffet breakfast includes local specialities. Free WiFi is included. My advice: choose it for its atmosphere rather than for spa facilities, which it does not list.

Hotel Dakota
Family-friendly comfort with mountain views and ski services
Why guests love itHotel Dakota in Meiringen suited our family well. Our family room had a private bathroom and a balcony with mountain views, a lovely spot for the kids to watch the evening light. Being able to hire ski equipment and buy lift passes at the hotel made our first morning easy. The restaurant served local specialities that everyone enjoyed, and on a rest day we drove 14 km to the Giessbach Falls.

Hotel Sherlock Holmes "nur 200 m zur Gondelbahn Hasliberg"
Family rooms, diverse dining, and close to Hasliberg gondola
Why guests love itHotel Sherlock Holmes in Meiringen is about 200 metres from the Hasliberg gondola, and the name alone thrilled our young detective fans. Our family room had a balcony with mountain views. The family-friendly restaurant served Indian, German and European dishes in a traditional setting, so everyone found something. Breakfast offered vegetarian and gluten-free choices, and the sun terrace and garden were lovely.
